Ryan Torrens

Ryan Torrens

Prior to starting his own law practice in 2012, Ryan worked as an independent consultant on the federal government-mandated Independent Foreclosure Review Project, where he was charged with reviewing toxic mortgage loans. While working on this project, Ryan gained a serious interest in foreclosure defense litigation and consumer protection law.

Ryan’s practice focuses on foreclosure defense, consumer protection litigation, and real estate closings. Ryan defends consumer clients against mortgage foreclosure actions and also represents consumers against creditors and debt collectors for collection violations. Ryan represents consumers in cases involving claims under the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act, Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Ryan has successfully tried mortgage foreclosure cases to verdict and has prosecuted consumer claims against creditors to judgment.

A fifth-generation Tampa native, Ryan was a candidate for Florida Attorney General in the 2018 election. Believing that how much justice you get should not depend on how much money you have, Ryan ran on a platform of fighting for everyday Floridians and standing up to big corporate interests. During his 15-month campaign, Ryan followed through on his pledge to refuse even one penny in big corporate campaign contributions. Ryan ran a proud grassroots campaign and 367,053 Floridians joined his cause to put our consumers first and voted for him for Florida Attorney General.

Ryan has now channeled that passion into fighting for our consumers into residential real estate closings, starting Torrens Title, Inc. This provides yet another avenue to be of service to Florida’s consumers during one of the most important transactions of their lives.

As someone in long-term recovery, Ryan is passionate in helping others find long-term sobriety. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys reading, writing, running, dancing, fishing, and enjoying time with his wife Francesca.

|

Celeste has been involved in the Florida real estate industry since moving to Tampa in 2006. While she has worked in both plaintiff and defendant-side foreclosure, deed-in-lieu, short sales, traditional transactions, refinances, new construction, and commercial title work, her niche has been private investors and managing their investments, construction draws, and the documents necessary to protect their interests. She prides herself in thinking outside of the box and finding new, creative ways to solve title issues and overcome obstacles to closing. Her passion is people and insuring that one of the biggest purchases or sales of their lives goes smoothly.

Celeste is experienced with the conveyance of marital property after the dissolution of marriage and probate matters, making her an ideal candidate in helping our clients navigate confusing waters in a sensitive time. She is an enthusiastic teacher and loves helping new agents and educating parties in a transaction to insure a comfortable and well-informed transaction.

When she steps out of the real estate world, she finds her happiness at home with her two girls and in the animal rescue world. If you’re lucky she will show up to closing with a tiny animal that she’s nursing back to life or raising. She loves the outdoors and can bore you with the name of just about any plant you can think of.
Her attention to detail and passion for the real estate process makes her a dedicated and valued asset to the Torrens Title team…not to mention entertaining.
